In the glorious sunshine today, Lady Captain, Lady Vice and guests played a stringball competition at Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club. There were a few lost balls, some lost scissors and much merriment as we played our way round. Unusually, we had to deal with bunkers and water – though our bits of string helped us out on more than one occasion. Making best use of her allocated string was Janette who triumphed as overall winner. She looks surprisingly delighted with her golden string trophy.
Runner up was Kay, who looks slightly less delighted with her prize.
Onwards and upwards to next week’s medal when we will most definitely not be allowed to lift out of hazards or avoid putts by the power of string. Boo!
