With the weather vastly improved for the weekend it was just great to see the course full of both members and visitors. Long may it continue.

With the first ladies open competition and the Chris Thomas Memorial Celts Challenge this week, there will be lots of work on the course to have things ready.

On Thursday the Ladies Captain, Chris McIntyre & Vice Captain, Marena McClymont played their tie in the Daily Mail Foursommes. Unfortunately the comination of an away tie at Thornhill and a strong pair of compeditors was just to much for them.

On Friday the gents played their first summer league. With the weather improving there was a good entry however the winner of the league for the last two years, Alex Long showed his determination to win for the third year, winning with 38 points.

Saturday’s fine weather brought out a strong field for the ladies April medal. With the greens improving Kay Gillespie scored a brilliant net 70 to win by one shot from Erica Porteous.

More fine weather on Sunday brought out the strongest field for some time in the gents April medal. Although staring with a dissapointing seven, the Vice Captain, David Aitken steadied the ship to sh0ot a superb net 64 to win by two shots from Alex Long. Alex will surely win a medal some day.
