  • 36 Hole Trophy 2022

    The second round of the 36 Hole Trophy was played at Portpatrick  on a beautiful sunny day with a bitterly cold wind. Six of the 13 players scored 30 or more points in a strong wind. Congratulations to Janette on winning on the day with 32 points, 16 points on each 9 with only one blob. A bigger congratulations to Janette on winning the trophy with a run away 68 points. Four players players scored 31 points. Dave Nielsen & Erica scored 18 points on their back nines, Dave edged it with 14 points on the last 6 holes to Erica’s 13. Brian Duguid had 17 points on his back 9 to Marena’s 15 points.

    Alan Walker Plate 2022

    19 Players took part in the annual Seniors Alan Walker Plate competition. Golfers stripped down to our shirts for the first time this year. Congratulations to Stuart who steamed out in 18 points and finish with 30 points. Well done Marena who putted magnificently on the slippery greens to come second with 29 points.

  • Seniors Birdie Competition

    Three teams of three took part in the inaugural Birdie competition. Net birdies counted with net eagles counting as only one birdie. Net eagles were recorded to determine the winning team in the event of a tie.

    The winners were Ian Brown’s team with 18 birdies. Ian had 9 birdies, Ronnie 3 and Mike 6 including 1 net eagle on the fourth. In second place was Brian Duguid’s team with 15 points, Brian scored 5 birdies including an eagle, Wave 3 including an eagle and our star Ian McCulloch scoring 7 birdies. In third place was Dave Aitken’s team with 11 points, Dave Aitken and Dave Nielsen both scored 3 birdies and were our performed by Jackie who scored 5 birdies.

    18 Hole Trophy at Glenluce March 2022

    Congratulation to John Lynch on winning the 18 Hole Trophy at Glenluce with 37 points on a difficult day with misty rain from the early part of the round with a seaside breeze. He played some superb iron shots mid-way round. Ian McCulloch as our oldest member has to be admired for giving John a run for his money scoring 35 points with 20 gained on the second nine holes.
    Condolences were expressed to Rex who could not be with us on the day.

    The 7th Winter Leagues was played on Wednesday 6th January on a bright sunny day. The wind got up for the second half and conditions difficult the frost bound conditions. Dave Aithken won with a great round of 27 points followed by In McIlvenna with 25 points. The majority scored 23 or 24 points.

    What a day with a heavy frost, sub zero temperatures and a beautiful sky. Six players scored 30 or more points in really difficult conditions. Congratulations to Jackie with 34 points. Terry clinched second place with a better inward half from Ronnie on 31 points. The first hole in one that I can remember being scored in the Seniors was achieved by Ian at the seventh second time round.
