Ten players turned up in the morning with the inimitable trio following in the noon draw. It was a relief to not to be squelching round the course and being able to play off firm lies. The boy in form Sandy came in with 32 points taking the win off leader in the clubhouse Terry on 31 points. Three classy players came in third with 29 points, Ashley, Brian Duguid and Wave.

Winter League 16
The first dry Sunday of the year drew 14 players. The course is still very wet under foot and dry lies were few and sparse in between areas of casual water. Congratulations to Dave Aitken, an English Scotsman by repute, on scoring 30 points. He managed a two at the fourth but the two of the year must go to Sandy with a two at the last hole ninth. Three players had 29 points, Sandy claiming second place with 14 second half from Stuart Jamieson & Dave Nielsen.

14 golfers entered the field to play 9 holes and it would be fair to say that it was a little damp. Mister Sombrero won again in spite of a 5 shot cut in handicap. Ashley won with 21 points with a better last six of 15 to terry’s 21 points with a last six of 13. Massive apologies to miss reading his card.
We all enjoyed Ashley’s famous mince pies pecan pie. Simply delicious.

Three Club Competition
It seems to have been a long time since we played the 3 Club competition on New Year’s day. It was a great start to the year with a most convivial get together in the clubhouse. The weather was particularly kind to us where the forecast rain failed to turn up leaving us with bright skies.
Congratulations to Guy Pumpr on scoring 29 Points, one point more from examination of his card. Ashley Turgoose came second with 28 and Sandy Harvie with 27 points.
Next week will be the winter League with a draw at 9.30 by Wave and another draw at 12.00 by Sandy. Players are required to make out their own cards for the draws and place £3 in the envelopes in the changing room. Please do not seal the envelopes.

Seniors league 9:2022
Seven brave players assembled to put the course at our mercy. I am not sure who won but it was an unexpectantly good day where the wind got up for the second half and the rain just about held off.
Winner on the day was Ashley with 35 points on 12 holes, not scoring on the other three holes.Next week we will have coffee and mince pies abandoning the planned lunch. The mince pies were “volunteered” by Ashley. A just reward for a cut in Seniors handicap to 25.
It was decided to play the remaining two away days only and not fit in the away day previously arranged and cancelled.

Eleven players set out with not much enthusiasm on a dismal misty day. Some made excuses not to play. Surprisingly no one had a soaking. Congratulations to Erica for a fine 33 points followed by Dave and Ashley on 30 points, Dave claiming second with a better inward half.
